We are very pleased to announce that we`re in the late design stages for Kingston`s first Passive House! This will be the most energy-efficient home in the city - and one of only a handful in the country. If you haven't heard of a "Passive House" before, you're certainly not alone. Canada is just now starting to catch on to this impressive standard for energy efficiency, longevity and superior indoor air quality (IAQ). A Passive House is extremely well insulated, very tight, requires great care in construction to eliminate thermal bridges, and uses only 10-20% of the energy required to heat and cool a conventional home. These attributes combined with the fact it is healthier to live in, make it a true winner.
